About Elandscapeplan

First and foremost, we are Landscape Architects.  We have a great deal of respect for all members of the landscape community, but we are landscape professionals, most with a 5 year college degree in Landscape Architecture and/or Environmental Design.

Minimum requirements for our landscape architects are that they must have received a bachelors degree from universities with accredited programs in landscape architecture, completed a 18 month post graduate internship under the direct supervision of a registered landscape architect, and passed the licensing exam for the state in which they reside as required by CLARB, the Council for Landscape Architectural Registration Boards. Many of our landscape architects are also members of the ASLA, American Society of Landscape Architects.

CLARB is a non-profit association of the state and provincial registration boards that regulate the profession of landscape architecture in North America. It is the governing body that administers the L.A.R.E., Landscape Architect Registration Examination. This exam is designed to determine whether applicants for landscape architectural licensure possess sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to provide landscape architectural services without endangering the health, safety and welfare of the public. It is given to graduates of universities that have accredited programs in the field of landscape architecture and who have completed the required post graduate internship (under the direct supervision of a registered landscape architect).

Currently 46 states require by law that you must meet all criteria established by CLARB before you can practice and/or be called a "landscape architect". Our goal with every project is to produce innovative designs that not only meet the design criteria of our clients, but also to create sustainable landscapes that are environmentally friendly as well. By taking the time to listen to our client's needs and incorporating Best Management Practices (BMP) into our designs, we create unique landscapes that are cost efficient and resource efficient that will serve our clients and our communities for years to come.
