How Our Process Works

Providing affordable, custom and professional landscape master plans to homeowners all around the country is a feature that differentiates LandscapePlan.com from other landscape architectural firms. And because we know that each client is going to have different needs, desires, and ideas for their project, we have designed our process completely around your valuable input.  We do this to ensure that the landscape master plan that we prepare for you will suit your exact needs!

How Our Internet Service Works:
  1. Once you have read and agreed to our terms of service, you will be given the opportunity to select which type of plan that you desire:  the Basic Plan (our least expensive and most popular plan) OR our Pro Plan (slightly more expensive but includes additional design features such as water features, swimming pools, retaining walls, etc.)
  2. After choosing the plan type that best suits your needs, you will be guided to the Payment page where you can use your credit card or a PayPal account.
  3. You will then be assigned a User Name (your email address) and choose your password.
  4. Next you will be taken to YOUR home page!  This is the page that will be the communications portal between you and your landscape architect throughout the design process of your project.  On this page you will be able to enter data into our Questionnaire, send and receive messages to/from your Landscape Architect, and view the status of your project. 
  5. Next you will be guided through the steps of taking up to 18 digital photographs of your residence so that we can see every aspect of your yard such as the topography, views and sight lines in and out of your property, existing vegetation, etc.  Your home page will have an “upload” button that will allow you to send us your photographs.
  6. Lastly we will need a copy of your property survey.  This is typically obtained during the closing of your home purchase and is required in most municipalities.  We suggest you scan your property survey and save it as a .jpg file that you can simply upload to us on your home page just as you did with your digital photographs. 
  7. Once we have all your data (photographs, property survey, and answers to the questionnaire), the landscape architect handling your project will set up a time to discuss your desires with you via the telephone or Skype ™ video conference.  This phone conversation is simply a way of ensuring that we understand your desires and concerns.
  8. The last step is the actual design of your project!  We typically only require about one to two weeks to prepare your plan but we guarantee a two week turn around time once we have obtained all your information.  Should your plan not be delivered during the two week timeframe then your plan is free!  Once your plan is completed we will also upload a .pdf file of your plan to your page so that you can view it online from any computer with Internet access or simply print it from your own computer.  We will also upload a plant database .pdf to your home page which shows detailed information on the various plants from which you could possibly choose to install in your yard.  In addition to the drawing file and plant database information, we will also post a .pdf “shopping list” of materials that will be necessary to implement your plan.  Lastly, we will mail you 3 blueprint copies of your plan at a scale of 1” = 10’.  We will also continue to host your home page on our server for approximately 12 months after completion of your plan thus providing you a link to communicate with the Landscape Architect that prepared your plan.
